Gourmet dining at the InterContinental Muscat

Across the Middle East there is currently a package on offer called "Gourmet Dining". There is a website with full details available here, but here are the cliff-notes:

1. A complimentary nights stay at any one of the IHG hotels here in Oman (InterCon, Crowne Plaza Muscat, Sohar, Duqm, Salalah and the Holiday Inn in Seeb).

2. A complimentary brunch for 2 people at any one of the IHG hotels here in Oman (InterCon, Crowne Plaza Muscat, Sohar, Duqm, Salalah and the Holiday Inn in Seeb).

3. 20% off the best flexible room rate at any hotel in the Middle East that's a part of the program.

4. 25% off the bill at any participating outlets at any hotel in the Middle East that's a part of the program. There's a caveat here that the discount only applies for up to 12 people in any one sitting. And yes it includes a discount on "beverages".

The cost for this is RO 99 per year, so it isn't for everyone, but if you find that you regularly go for meals at these hotels, then the savings for this quickly rack up. Given that a room will run for about RO 75 at the moment and two brunches will be more than RO 25, this deal sort of pays for itself once you'v used the freebies, with the discounts (25% off card in the restaurants is not too shabby) this deal could be pretty attractive to some of you.

  1. It pays to check first about the 25% discount for food and beverage at the participating IHG outlet to avoid any nasty surprises when the bill arrives. Not all of the "participating" establishments apply the discount on beverages i.e. Dukes (Crowne Plaza) and Al Ghazal (Intercontinental).
