Eid holidays announced (finally)

Well it's finally happened, they've announced the holidays for us all to celebrate Eid al Adha. The moon sighting committee announced that they had indeed spotted the moon back on September 2nd (2016), which, historically at least, is usually promptly followed by announcements from the people in charge of the Private and Public sector workforce's (until just a few years ago, holidays for the public and private sectors were different, like it is in the UAE).

Yet, this hot-on-the-heels announcement that we usually see didn't happen this time, and we've all been waiting with baited breath to see if we are going to get that magical 9 day holiday or not.

Well, the wait's over!

It's just been announced that the holidays for the 2016 Eid al Adha for Oman will be from:

Sunday 11th September  - Thursday 15th September with a return to work on Sunday 18th September.

Sweet!!! Enjoy that 9 day beauty!

  1. Thanks for the news. Any idea if there will be any 'dry days"?
